VIPERS LOOP
About the route
Distance: 104km
Elevation: 991m
Difficulty: 5/10
Time: 5.5–4hrs
Through the ancient woodland of Epping Forest, into the quiet winding lanes of Essex. Start at The Clapton Hart, public toilets and water stop available at High Beech, The Viper at Mill Green would make a good halfway lunch stop. These are classic Essex lanes! Busy road with cycle path through Walthamstow, main road out to epping forest, but it's used by lots of cyclists. The forest is an ancient woodland with a long and complex history. After Epping this route is a cyclists paradise, small quiet lanes, tiny villages, rolling but fairly flat countryside.
